"I don't know, you all bundled up standing in the snow. Sounds cute as hell. I mean you would probably hate it but the image is cute. Are you saying that if I won this thing and you got an invitation to a Winter Court at Shiro Shiba you wouldn't come? I really want you to come."

"What makes y'think I'd get an invite?"

[Shiba Haru]

"Well in this scenario I am the Topaz Champion and responsible for the Winter Court even being in Shiba lands so I feel like they would let me invite whoever I want."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"That's as may be, but the Isawa are still the Isawa."

[Shiba Haru]

"Whoever I want. The Isawa are the Isawa but I like to believe that the winter court would be held at Shiro Shiba, my uncle isn't a major player in the clan but he is a lord and would support me. Besides, the Isawa don't want a bunch of people poking around their forests, trying to peal bark of the sacred trees and stuff."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

She winked at him

"Well. Guess you'll need t'win th'whole thing t'find out."

[Shiba Haru]

"So what's the bet? What do I get if I win?" he said, leaning forward and fixing her with a look.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"The Topaz Championship. Same as if I win it."

[Shiba Haru]

"And here I thought you were a gambler. Did losing to me hurt that badly? I mean you didn't even tell me a secret so you kind of owe me. I'm offering you a winter in utter luxury and a chance to meet the Emperor if I win the Topaz Championship. Don't you think I deserve a little reciprocity?"

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"And whaddya think I could offer that'd match, hm?"

[Shiba Haru]

"Are you really gonna make me say it again?"

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Might I'm hopin' for a bit more creativity..."

[Shiba Haru]

"Wow, if uncontrollable shaking isn't enough I guess I just have to.."

He leaned in a whispered something to the Mantis.

She bit her lip a bit.

"I see we read some'a th'same books."

Haru finished the piece he was playing and then stopped, packing the koto away.

"I'm so happy that you decided to join me today Kasumi-san, you are a delight to spend time with."

Haru switched back to the sake, pouring himself some.

"Glad y'think so. You're... a bit of a puzzle fer me, but not a bad one, Haru-san."

[Shiba Haru]

"We should do it again some time but I feel I have stolen enough of your time today; I shouldn't be selfish."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Hell, I'm selfish enough for th'both of us, but... yeah."

She looked about.

"Gotta get soem prepwork in 'fore th'evenin', as it happens. But thanks for invitin' me."

[Shiba Haru]

"It has been my pleasure and I wish well the rest of the event. May the fortunes carry you."
