Without any preamble, the skinny Kuni sits down beside Kuroneko. "Good morning, Shiba-san," she says happily. Perhaps happier than she's sounded yet during this trip, save once.

"You've been sending me letters, haven't you?" She says kindly, smiling at him gently.

"Kuni Mitsuko", she said. "She seems to have not only a fine grasp of tactics, but is composed in the direct face of the enemy, and displayed great intuition, a difficult factor to gain mastery of." She gave it further thought. "I believe Shiba Haru did fine work, and as a Lion i approve of him taking his own view of the flow of battlecraft, but without widening his perspective he will ultimately face challenges he cannot deal with, despite taking the path of adaptability."

Sakura smirked, and her attention flicked past Jiro at the spiritual ruckus growing in the observation area.
"That's a complicated question? I've enjoyed them all? But are you asking in terms of which I found the most enjoyably challenging, which I found the easiest, or which I had the most fun?"

"Which left you with the strongest feeling of satisfaction?" he clarified.

"Yeah, but you'n I seem t'grasp that peace is surest for those who c'n defend it."

"I liked that the letters seemed to be getting more optimistic. Although I'm not really good with..." She waves a hand lightly. "With like poetry-type things..." She keeps smiling at the Phoenix.

"Yet as we have seen his ideal has not harmed his ability in this test", she said thoughtfully. "I do not question my own ideals, I realize that this world is a place of violence and accept it. Many wish harm upon others for cruel, or perhaps even just reasoning, but it remain that lives will be lost in battle. The manner in which those who perish leave this world is of a grave concern to me, however. I cannot allow deaths to be meaningless. It is all I can do for my comrades."

[Asahina Sakura]

"I- I-" she started and stopped, considering. "I don't think I've been fully satisfied by my complete performance with any event, Shiba-san," she said thoughtfully. "They've all had highlights, some of which I expected to perform well in, and some that surprised me... And they've each humbled me as well which how much I still have left to learn.
And yourself?" she inquires.

"Like any good skipper."

"And you then?" she asked, viewing the game as it went on. "Will you be ordered to the field with troops of your own one day, or does your family provide a different service to your lord?"

[Shiba Jiro]

"I think that I have been surprised that I have not failed utterly on any of them, just mostly," he says with a chuckle. "Probably most satisfied with how I did with the riding and shooting. Did much better than I expected."

She laughed lightly, nodding in camaraderie. "I've never shot a bow on a horse before!"

"I'd never ridden a horse before. And only ever shot a bow when someone suggested it could be meditative. But what they say is true: the arrow knows the way... because I certainly didn't," he chuckled, entertained by how the ancient wisdom fit.

[Asahina Sakura]

The was a nudge of approval in the back of Sakura's mind and she nodded. "It's certainly a shame how quickly the end of this championship is approaching! I uh, feel like I've hardly met anyone, just watched on my own, um, pretty much, and been in awe. Though I hope I've made a few friends," she considered, her gaze ticking quickly to look for someone in particular before returning to Jiro, "-such as Shiba-san? And his brother? I had the good fortune of meeting Haru-san yesterday in the gardens beside the koi pond."
