[D5 EM, Jiro's Room] We Need To Talk?

[Shiba Jiro]

"When I talked with her, it was about the nature of death's presence in service. I was fine with it but she seemed unable to accept that I had different ideas and left," he shrugged at that.

[Shiba Haru]

"I walked out of our conversation, she seems utterly convinced that samurai must make war. As if the very idea of lasting peace is an insult to our ancestors and Bushido. I was about to lose it, which would have only helped her argument, so I excused myself. I think it's what Wakumi-sensei would have wanted me to do."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Why am I not surprised that you had to walk out with her, but she had to walk out with me?" he says with a smirk. "Clearly there is a hierarchy of patience, and I'm the foundation."

[Shiba Haru]

"Oh I was livid, the idea that everything our ancestors ever did being good or right is just...so naïve. It honestly makes me more confused as to what father intended me to learn from my time with the Akodo if this is what they end up believing. Nothing short of an edict from the Blessed Emperor himself is going to stop them and then I bet half of them would fall on their swords."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Well, she can be who she wishes to be. It's all good with me. I was more than happy to continue trying to clarify positions and discuss. She didn't want to and left. Some people prefer to hear their opinion echoed rather than listening to a different one," he says with a shrug.

[Shiba Haru]

"So do you have any thoughts on how to change the mind of someone like her?"

[Shiba Jiro]

"Not really, since she's likely trying to convince you of an opposite idea and believes it as fervently as you do," he says, shaking his head. "Just don't talk about that subject when you speak with her."

[Shiba Haru]

"I'm not sure that will be possible, it's kind of the Hida in the room. Though, she may just not want to talk to either of us anymore. I need to stop avoiding the Scorpion though, I was all excited to meet them before coming here but when I saw a pair of twins I got kind of weirded out. I definitely need to find the Dragon, I am interested in their take on the subject of peace."

[Shiba Jiro]

"I've enjoyed conversations with Shosuro Kaoru-san," he says with a nod. "The one with half of her face painted? She's pleasant to speak with."

[Shiba Haru]

"But do you think I would have an enjoyable conversation with her? We have very different conversational styles after all."

[Shiba Jiro]

"I think she would adapt to you," he says with a shrug. "If I didn't think that it would work out I wouldn't have suggested it though. But in the end, it's conversation, and if it doesn't work then it doesn't work."

[Shiba Haru]

"You know, you're going to ruin your back if you keep shrugging so much." he said in his most motherly tone.

"You seem awfully sort today brother, is everything alright?"

[Shiba Jiro]

"I just... I am preoccupied mentally, trying to figure some things out," he replies. He focuses attention on origami paper working on a cat.

"Things that we just discussed, so it's fresh in my mind. We've discussed your social and tournament based worries, but what about the good? Have you been enjoying the city?"

[Shiba Haru]

"The city is beautiful if a bit crowded right now but most of what I have been enjoying is the people I have met. I wish the weather would cooperate a bit more, I want to go sit with the koi in the garden a bit today but it looks to be windy again so we will see. I keep finding myself either in the dojo or the forest though, just like at home. How about you?"
