Taura thinks on this and nods. "That is well thought out. We will have many challenges ahead of us once we are adult, if these tests prepare us for those challenges, they are well-shaped and, in turn, so are we."

[Shiba Ichiro]

Another smile and nod.

[Kaiu Taura]

"Once we are finished with this competition, this one would like to keep in touch with you, Shiba-san," Taura says. "She thinks she could learn much from the Pheonix and from you especially. It is not often she finds someone so easy to . . . communicate with."

[Shiba Ichiro]

They let out a silent laugh and smile and nod as they write a few, brief characters.

Of course, Kaiu-san.

[Kaiu Taura]

"Domo arigato, Shiba-san," she says. "Perhaps someday this one will have a chance to visit the Phoenix lands. She has read some about them of course. You get much more snow than we do in the South, she understands. She would like to see how that shapes your architecture."

[Shiba Ichiro]

Architecture aesthetics, or function for that matter, was a little beyond Ichiro but the mountains at least they knew.

Cold but beautiful.

"The mountains in the Crab lands and grim and foreboding," Taura muses. "They can be impressive, threatening, reassuring . . . but never has this one thought of them as beautiful."

[Shiba Ichiro]

The Phoenix nods as they continue to write.

They call them Regret so I suppose foreboding is fitting. But there is still beauty to be found if one is careful.

Taura nods. "This one will look at them with new eyes upon her return."

"Have you considered traveling, Shiba-san? If so, where would you wish to visit?"

[Shiba Ichiro]

It would be nice. If duty allows.

[Kaiu Taura]

"Agreed, this one certainly hopes that her duties will allow the same," nods Taura.

"But where would you want to go? What would you like to see?"
