Day 2 [LA] The Show Might Go On (Expecting)

[Suzume Rin]

Mitsuko's smile continues, perhaps a touch brighter as she sees the Sparrow nervous.

"I'm kind of liking the tea right here... But we can certainly go soon." Mitsuko takes another sip. "Either way, I'm... glad for your company," she says softly, looking away nervously even as she says it.

"Well there's no rush at all. The tea is pretty nice, don't think the Crane serve bad tea."
Catching Mitsuko's glace away and now certain there was nothing on her face or between her teeth (she'd checked!)
"Um, Kuni-sama? Is there something on your mind? If it's personal I ain't one to pry, but don't be keeping something down for my sake."

"I um..." The Crab keeps looking down, as foolish as that looks when she's sitting so close to the Sparrow.

"Folks gotta have people they can just be with, otherwise you finish work at the end of the day and all you got to look forward to is sleep. I bet you've been working so hard there wasn't a lot of time for stuff like this. But don't you worry Kuni-sama, so long as I'm in Tsuma and you want to go out and have some fun and see the town but you need some backup, I can be that backup."

"That sounds great," she says in a quiet but warm voice. For her emphasis, Mitsuko somewhat subtly leans so her shoulder can bump Rin's. It's a fairly gentle bump and doesn't last long, but it's clearly intentional.

Well, Crab were known to be a bit more physical than most samurai. Rin gently bumps back, assuming it's much like the Mantis shoulder clap.
"I'll think of something fun to do overnight...Oh! And I'll make sure it has good research value as well."

Rin resolves to find something even better than a show to do!...But fun and educational, she'd need to think on it.

When the Sparrow returns the shoulder bump, Mitsuko freezes and blushes deeply. Fortunately it's only really only obvious if Rin notices the Crab's ears reddening.

"Something fun to do," Mitsuko murmurs agreeably. There's a delay, and then she seems almost to awaken from a daydream. "Oh, um, yes please. Fun, but good... research... Of course." She smiles brightly, flustered but happy, at Rin. That moment and feeling stick with her as they continue to drink and chat for a time.
