He waved at the Crane who wasn't looking in their direction.

Haru began to kick at the dangling branch where it broke.

"But there is an exhilaration that comes from risking your wellbeing that I at least can't find in things like art. When you are in real danger if focuses you mind and vision, things seem to slow down as get into a zone of consciousness that is hard to find elsewhere."

Another few kicks and the splintering of wood signaled that his efforts were working.

"It's just a question of if you are willing to take the risk. It isn't for everyone and depends highly on the situation but the more you do risky things the better you are at judging those risks."

With a loud grunt he kicks one last time and the branch falls harmlessly to the ground.
