"Oh yeah, Ichiro is in charge now. But I was pretty firm with him that if I came back and found out he'd been a bad leader I'd give him a good talking to. He's a good kid but power can go to a kid's head."

Well, we weren't exactly asked what we wanted to be but just from temperament alone my brother is not suited to a violent life. Neither of us is fond of death but I am more tolerant of it and as I said I was an angry child so they wanted to focus that into something constructive. The first teacher I ever had was a monk named Asako Wakumi who helped me tame my temper and has been a spiritual guide for me ever since. My brother has always been a nurturer, wanting only to help and please people, gentle. I am very slowly trying to convince him that he should learn jiujutsu as a less lethal way of defending his family."

"Me? Oh no, I mean, who'd want to? I don't really have any wealth or power coming my way. And it's not as though a Sparrow alliance is gonna tip the scales one way or another in a war. I reckon I'll probably end up paired with another Suzume at some point."
