[LN2] - Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

The Park is usually empty, save a few patrolling city guards. Yet even tonight, with how chilly it was, something seemed to stir in the night...

[Shosuro Yuuko]

Yuuko woke early in the morning, very early. Finding a strange lacking in her typical calm, she walked her way out of the room to where the hawks were allowed to be kept. Seeing to her own, joined not long after by her sister, she took the creature out for a late night walk. Together the twins walk directionless under the early mornings moonlight with the occasional shadow of the bird of prey far overhead enjoying it's view upon the city.

[Shosuro Asako]

"Why'd you want to wake so early again?" Asako asked, still rubbing her eyes as she followed after her. "It's not like we can prepare ahead of time for the next trial or anything that much."

[Doji Nanako]

"What a horrible night..." To have a curse, Nanako thought to herself darkly.

She wasn't unaccustomed to waking up at strange hours or walking in gardens at odd hours. Something stirred that night and so she was drawn to it.

[Seppun Urusai]

A voice wakes Urusai in his rooms, and he knows that he will not go back to sleep this night. It is not the first time, and even in his short life, he has had the experience of it. So he rises quietly, moves smoothly through the corridors, and finds his way outside into the brisk night, looking towards the heavens and seeking others who might be up and about at the late hour.

Please let there be somebody up, he thinks. Please.

So it is that he encounters the two Scorpion and the Crane in the garden.

"Minna-san," he says quietly, bowing.

The wind still blows calmly, bringing that cold air through clothing and against skin. The lanterns flicker as they sway in the breeze. The clouds overhead block the moon, and overall, lead the park shrouded. No one really is walking through the gardens, as it is quite late or early, depening on the perspective.

There's a feeling of forboding in the air, and it seems to coat everything around those who are out.

[Shosuro Yuuko]

"Why'd you want to wake so early again?" Asako asked, still rubbing her eyes as she followed after her. "It's not like we can prepare ahead of time for the next trial or anything that much."

Yuuko gives her sister a brief look, one lasting two seconds and no more. Giving a small shake of her head. "I had not planned on it. Woke and.. felt restless," she says, but seems to hush herself as other late night walkers seemed to make comments around them. Glancing up to the Imperial Yuuko offers a bow in return to the greeting but otherwise doesn't seek to push forward toward conversation herself.

Looking off for her hawk in the dark sky she can't seem to trace their position against the cloud and gives up the searching scan. Speaking again at a private volume, "Though the night air doesn't feel as calming as I had hoped."

[Shosuro Asako]

The slightly older one blinked. "You felt restless?" Asako closed her eyes, tuning into her own thought process. The storm inside her constantly raged; she'd not noticed her own tension.

She too followed with the niceties. Of course, she was more than happy to follow suit in not making conversation as her sister had.

[Seppun Urusai]

"I take it I'm not the only one who couldn't sleep the night," Urusai says, whether in reply to the Scorpion or in politely prompting conversation is unclear. But there is eagerness in his voice, suggesting he is glad to have company. "But a cool night is bracing, neh?"

[Doji Nanako]

"It feels like something is coming." Nanako says with a tone of quiet foreboding.

For her part, she cast her eyes about for signs. It may have been too late and, given her luck, it probably was but perhaps...

[Seppun Urusai]

"Oh?"

The Seppun's eyes flicker about, taking in as many details as can be done. His fists clench, ready to meet a threat.

[Ender]

The wind whips again, and one lantern is snuffed out, plunging part of the path into darkness, though still lightly illuminated by further lanterns, but it does nothing to ease the feeling. The chill in the air bites slightly.

[Seppun Urusai]

Urusai's eyes meet the growing darkness, and he reaches again for the stillness for which the Seppun are named, the unmoving place whence certainty comes. Something therein attracts his attention, somehow; something is not right.

As you all walk the path, remaining huddled together, you hear whispers down a western leading path. Hushed tones carrying a conversation, certainly trying to hide something.

[Seppun Urusai]

Instinctively, Urusai interposes himself between the sounds and the others there assembled. He says nothing, simply puts himself between potential danger and the others present.

[Shosuro Yuuko]

As the group approaches, Yuuko's focus grows in intent as she narrows in on something. Eyes tensing, but then growing calm the young woman leans in toward her sister and brings a hand over her mouth as to conceal it from view. Whispering something to her sister in the privacy of the moment she'd slip away from the group only momentarily. With a glance around, she fails to find a way to keep close but also remain unseen in but a moment and before her behavior could be marked as strange she gives up the effort.

Asako, much as was in her nature, immediately reached for her knife's handle. Her sister's voice calmed her ever so slightly, though worry overtook her as it so often did. She too slipped away in her sister's tracks, taking in mind not to be too aggressive with her footsteps.
