What about other weapons? Of course, people aren't walking around with tetsubos and bows, but what about small things like knives?

Those small incidental weapons, like knives, or if a bow and arrow, will be allowed.

Basically the Daisho, and heavy weapons, will not be given.

If anyone has any questions on specific weapons, ask with their sheet for submission.

Yes. Also we won't be tracking ammunition on standard arrows, but specialty arrows must be purchased separstely.

Standard arrows, you always have "enough for what you need." I just can't be assed about that

I'm not super familiar with Advantages and Disadvantages for this system. Are the rings associated with them the only applicable ones for rolling? If so, are we able to customize which ring is chosen instead?

Correct. The listed ring is the approach that the advantage/disadvantage could be employed.

No, we won't be customizing ring changes at this time. I want to keep things as close to core as possible for simplicity sake

Oh, I was under the impression that the advantages and disadvantages could also be activated with other rings if a situation was particularly fitting for what the adv/disad is? So they'll ONLY apply with the listed ring then?

Also - should we not buy a bokken then? Even for those of us who would not want to miss a day of training even during the trip to tsuma?

Correct. They would only apply with the given ring.

And I suppose you can buy a bokken if you want, I just wanted to say it wasn't a necessity. They're easily on hand/something that wouldn't be out of place for any competitor

As an additional question regarding weapons available prior to gempukku:

what about things like a yari or different knives (specifically in my case a yoroidoshi)? I'm guessing it 'might' make sense to have a yari for hunting, but they're kinda dangerous, so not sure?

Asking here b/c I think yari and different knives are an option for a few schools other than Aya's

Yoroidoshi is called an armor or mail piercer. It's pretry exclusively a weapon of war, versus say a camp knife.

Spears are definitely more in line with "given upon graduation."
