"So... but if multiple versions of me exist that made different decisions, we'd all be on ningen-do, and present in the same places at the same times, just doing different things? That's... hmm..."

[Isawa Kiriko]

"They might be different versions of the same places," she mused. "After all, if different things happened there, they might be different than how we know them."

[Shiba Jiro]

"But there would be a lot of them right? Like..." one of his eyes twitches. "...uh. One for each decision each person could make in their lives."

He shakes his head a bit. "And for each decision that anyone could make after that decision in each different version. All the way back to the first decision ever made?"

He looks like he might be getting a bit of a headache as he legitimately attempts, unknowingly, to wrap his mind around the concept of infinity.

[Isawa Kiriko]

"Hmm... Yes, probably," she acknowledged, looking a little spaced out herself. "Like a fraying rope of reality, forever."

[Shiba Jiro]

"I still don't know where it all... is? Goes? You know about those other decisions?"

[Isawa Kiriko]

"Mm... Sometimes I see them, but I don't think the human mind is meant to see that much, so it makes my memories a little... muddy during those times. Too much to try to absorb."

[Shiba Jiro]

"I imagine that if that's true I can't really imagine it," he says making his way back to a soft smile while pushing aside thoughts of endless choices made by endless versions of endless people over endless time.

"So you figure that stuff out and you can influence it with your abilities? Are there void kami that you speak to for that?"

[Isawa Kiriko]

"The Void is everything and nothing. We are always within it and connected by it. So there aren't really kami involved... It's just... the Void. It's already there."

[Shiba Jiro]

"So there are no kami? So no prayers then and no interaction with a being? Does that mean you interact with the void the same way a fire kami interacts with fire?" A curious thought.

[Isawa Kiriko]

"Huh... I never thought about it that way." She looks slightly upward, frowning slightly, then nodded. "I suppose that's not wrong in a sense. I think in a sense the Void is the being we interact with. I've wondered for a while if it doesn't have some intelligence we can't fully comprehend all its own. But maybe so does fire... hmm..."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Well, there is a dragon and an oracle of the Void, so it's definitely got some things in common with other elements. Though beyond the fact that they are mentioned in theological texts I really don't know how they might be different from the other elemental oracles and dragons. Maybe they know the answers? I wonder if anyone's ever talked to them about it and written down the conversation?"
