Hirame cleared his throat. "I was thinking that I would emulate her great-grandfather, actually. That seems more... fitting."

Then he shook his head. "But the marriage is happening, no matter how we feel about it. What's up to us is whether it's a happy one or not. I always wanted one, I suppose, but now that I've met her, well... I really want it to be a happy one."

Hirame made a face. "So yes, she's the one, okay? Ugh." He chuckled. "Look, I'm not good at talking about these sorts of things. You know I've yet to write a complete poem?"

"Nawww, you're plenty good at this. Your head's screwed on right, well, most of the way. But the last couple turns happen with age."
That being said
"Wait, not even one? But...you're getting married, yah gotta write a poem, that's just how it is. Just...you know, think of something that rhymes with her eye colour and go from there."

In answer to the first, Hirame just made another face at her.

For the second... Hirame frowned. "Okay, well, her eyes are green. So, uh... mean. Spleen. Yikes, these are terrible words. Yeen?" Hirame frowned. "That's a word, right? Like, 'I yeen for you'? Something like that?" It wasn't.

"...Ummm maybe...maybe we craftshop that a little? Ain't a woman I know who wants to be compared to a spleen or having someone yeening for them."
Rubbing her chin

"Something like....'Eyes of green...my heart flutters, what does that mean?' You know, something to show you care, but it's classy."

"Okay, okay..." Hirame said, nodding. "I see. I didn't know you could ask questions in poetry. But I guess it's a, what's that word, a question you already know the answer to."

He scratched his head. "So... do you switch rhymes there, or do you use the same one? Is yeen going to get its chance? I guess I could change body parts, too." He considered. "Her lips are rose... she... has..? A nose?"
