Building a future - Kaiu Taura

Post by Kaiu Taura » Tue Dec 14, 2021 2:26 am

Sorry I was not more active, just not good timing for me. But thank you everyone who had scenes with me.

If you have any questions for or about the little builder, ask away!

Well, I really did not end up with nearly as much time to delve into Taura as I had hoped. But:

I suppose that Taura did as well in the tests as she did, I was expecting much more failure. So, I never had to lean into self-doubt or fear of failure.

How easy it was to play to Taura's disadvantages: Bluntness, Painful Honesty and Impatience. Surprisingly without offending anyone.

Not meeting more people, just did not have the energy to hunt up more chances to play. *sigh*

Rebuilding the shrine, thought that was really fun.

Would have liked meeting you in character! Good to see you playing though. I liked the engineer's approach to the shrine, for sure.

So since a lot of backstory probably got left backstage... What's Taura's story? Was she one of the folks who seemed unsure about why they were here or whether or not she could live up to the expectations that being chosen for the Topaz tournament might create? She seemed very aware of the honor of it all...and the Emperor showing up.

What memory will she hang onto, back at the Wall?

Taura (Niji now) is a very active problem solver, just before she was chosen (and this is why she thinks she was chosen) she was in a village where an unexpected flood had washed away a bridge. On her own initiative, she took charge and organized the repairs of the bridge, completing it just in time for a vital supply convoy to continue on its way unimpeded. It was not a big or particularly important bridge (except at the one moment) and for her, it was just an obvious task that needed doing and she had the skills to help it happen. That it allowed something important to happen was just a stroke of good luck but she would have repaired the bridge no matter what.

My assumption is that someone close to the Kaiu daimyo said, "This kid gets things done, sent her to the Topaz Championship and she will make people think well of the Kaiu." It got approved and I think they were right. ;)

And, yes, would have liked to have talked with you in-game too. Stupid work.
