Stands are set up on either side of the obstacle course, allowing observers and competitors to watch all the action easily.

Moving up and down the stairs, vendors call out snack foods and drink for sale.

To say Kasumi was volcanic with fury at her inexplicable failure to smack a dummy was an understatement.

[Seppun Urusai]

Urusai takes up a place to watch the other competitors after his own performance--again, an adequate job, but not one likely to see him earn more renown.

He looks very much like he could use company.

Michi took her seat, remaining still and calm. The smithing was not her manner of activity, but it took a test of her composure to not show how pleased she was.

Not since test of the wild had she felt anywhere near her element.

She turned to the Seppun and bowed her head. "Good morning, Seppun-sama."

[Kakita Ahiru]

Removing the headback to wipe her forehead, Ahiru took her place among the observers.

It was a bit annoying that Hirame outperformer her here too...

"And to you," Urusai replies, bowing. "Impressive performance" he adds. "But that was not in doubt, truly."

She smiled faintly, keeping the bloom of pride within her. "The obstacle course was treacherous, I will be giving many thanks to Bishamon after this", she said. "It was through his aid, and I think, the well wishes of you and others, that I managed to reach the end on foot." She returned the bow. "Yet fate seems to have been fickle throughout this tournament, would you say?"

She smiled faintly, keeping the bloom of pride within her. "The obstacle course was treacherous, I will be giving many thanks to Bishamon after this", she said. "It was through his aid, and I think, the well wishes of you and others, that I managed to reach the end on foot." She returned the bow. "Yet fate seems to have been fickle throughout this tournament, would you say?"

"It ever goes as it must," Urusai replies, "although it will save a pious one who faces it bravely. Or so the sages say, and I've no cause to doubt them.

"And it was a pleasure to see your technique deployed well."

"It was my pleasure to give such a display", she replied with a bit more of a real smile, that time. "And an honor to have competed with you, Seppun-sama. You have done well leading this pack for a time."

Seto was still in stealth mode as he stepped back from the broken blade and stayed to watch the others.

Still somewhat out of breath, Sakura found a spot to sit, smoothing her white hair back and watching the other competitors.

[Ikoma Aya]

Aya returns from her run silent and sober, although the flame of confidence in her eyes shines brightly this time. She bows to the others around, a nod of acknowledgement after the bow being thrown to Michi, Shinko, Natsuko, Sakura and Urusai. She keeps standing instead of taking a seat - a sign of excitement behind the neutral expression, perhaps? - as she watches the others perform.

Kasumi narrowed her eyes, nodded, once...

"My 'pologies, Togashi-san. 'Fraid I'm bad comp'ny of late."

She bowed to the Dragon, and, as had become a habit of late in Tsuma... she left.

"An excellent showing, Ikoma-san," Ahiru remarked as she approached the Lioness. "You and Kitsu-san have really been standouts this tournament, it seems. The Lion honor us with such skilled participants."

The girl turns to Ahiru when she hears her voice, tilting her head slightly. Surprise, perhaps?

"Oh... thank you very much for your kindness, Kakita-san." She nods. "Kitsu-san has done well in the previous tests, indeed!" Her own performance, though? She supposed it wasn't bad... but how come others were praising her like this?

Slowly, she nodded. "And... thank you. I... ah..."

It's awfully clear she isn't used to praise...

"My ancestors have stood with me today. I should be thankful", she says, her eyes searching the ground, but some fire in them apparently preventing them from looking away for long. "I... eto... Kakita-san handled Mount Midoriyama very well as well! You... are trained as a courtier, aren't you?"

"Though I found it shameful, still", she said. "As I believe some Crane felt the same, the state of those shrines."
