EA6 Party: Kite Flying I (Training grounds)

[Seppun Urusai]

"Oh, just who we know 'round here. But I c'n be quite unpolished, as I'm sure Seppun-sama has noticed..."

"I hadn't, actually," Urusai says. "And it's been said humility is quite becoming."

He grins. "It's also said that a coat of wax does wonders for polishing."

Urusai laughs.

"Well," he says, "I'll not speak to that. But I will happily accompany you back to Asahina-san, as I'd not want to take away your conversation partner."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

Urusai laughs.

"Thanks for holdin' th' kite for me, Asahina-san! I'm hopin' Seppun-sama can help ya out here..."

[Asahina Sakura]

She had been shocked to have the kite string thingie? thrust into her hand as Kasumi ran off, and even more shocked upon her return. "AH!"

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Y'see what I mean, Seppun-sama? Think I flustered our hostess."

[Seppun Urusai]

"Something I am sure someone of your charm must contend with daily," Urusai says with a wink. "But how may I help?"

[Asahina Sakura]

Sakura looked horribly confused, and her gaze tracked back from face to face as the other two spoke.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"I was thinkin' maybe y'could help Asahina-san with her composure... an' I'll go fly this kite right over here if y'need me."

[Ender]

Urusai ventures outside and smiles as he sees who is present. Still smiling, he constructs his kite, sending it aloft--and doing decently well with it.

Something moves out of the corner of his eye, though, and he reels in the kite...

There's not so much a disturbance. But with the Kites, the air kami seem playful, batting at them and watching them fly.

Over on some rocks, some earth spirits jingle their heads as they watch in awe.

[Ikoma Aya]

Once again, soon after Aya shows up to participate in one of the activities offered by the Crane clan members, a lively conversation sprouts up... and some awkwardness seems to follow.

She also bowed to the other girl she did not recognize, "And... Ikoma-san?! You're doing great, as well! You've chosen a good kite for attacking!"

After a while, she nears the Asahina, who seems to be uncomfortable about... something.

"Asahina-san", she finally answered, bowing again while maneuvering her kite. "I... hope everything is alright? On the kite though - good to know! Can't say I have that much experience with this, so it was probably luck. I just remember some things from when our dad took us to do this when we were much younger. Ah... and... this is Ikoma Aya. Pleased to meet you!"

[Seppun Urusai]

Urusai nods as the Mantis departs and the Ikoma arrives, and he steps back just a bit to allow Sakura to do her hostessing duties.

And he looks aside and smiles at the clear evidence of happy spirits.

[Asahina Sakura]

Oh. My. Kami. Sakura's eyes felt like they might fall out of her head at Kasumi just... throwing Urusai at her, and then running off? Who did that?!

"Asahina-san", she finally answered, bowing again while maneuvering her kite. "I... hope everything is alright? On the kite though - good to know! Can't say I have that much experience with this, so it was probably luck. I just remember some things from when our dad took us to do this when we were much younger. Ah... and... this is Ikoma Aya. Pleased to meet you!"

"Oh yes! Um!" she put her attentions on the Lioness, and motioned to the line that sparkled in the sky close to the kite, "It's a start though, calling on childhood memories is sort what, um, the Crane are hoping to inspire? Before we all, uh, grow up? Oh! it's so nice to meet you too!"

Sakura noted this, and smiled with appreciation.
Noted, also, the happy spirits activities...

And then, there was her chaperone - who seemed to have calmed down, for now, anyway.

Who did that?!

I AM SO GOOD AT THIS! I AM A GENIUS! THEY SHOULD MAKE ME A NAKODO!

[Asahina Sakura]

In due time, the contest wound down and Sakura moved to the kites table where the boxes of prizes lay.

First to Kasumi, with a bow, a box of two monaka is held out, "Thank you for attending, Kasumi-san."

Then to the Lioness Aya, another box of two monaka and a bow is given, "Thank you also for attending."

And finally, to Urusai, Sakura holds the larger box of four monaka and bows deeper than to the other two, as per his station. "Uh. Thank you... and congratulations." Her eyes speak that she'd say more but the setting dictates otherwise.

[Seppun Urusai]

Urusai bows, sharply.

"I receive it with thanks," he says, formally. But his eyes shine when he rises.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

DAMN I'm good. Lookit that.

Kasumi bowed and accepted the snack box with thanks.
