"Something I'll have to look into. Curiosity's got me now," he says with a smirk.

"Nothin' wrong with some healthy curiosity."

"Nothing wrong with any curiosity," he counters. "Despite what some people might say. The curiosity is never the problem, it's the things you do to fulfill it that can be bad. And if nobody's getting hurt then I see no reason not to indulge a bit."

She grinned.

He nods. "That's how I came to know my work songs, and figured out carpentry and masonry."

"Well. My own curiosty's a bit less... general at th'moment."

She glanced around at their surroundings. Had a pull of sake.

"So's prob'bly best we stay out where I don't get any.... ideas."

"I..." he nods at that and smiles. "Probably the more proper idea. Not that I am a fan of it."

"Well, what we like an' what's good for us don't line so often as we'd like."

He raises his sake cup as though that was a toast and takes a sip.

Not one to turn down a toast, she followed suit.

"So. Short of gettin' too sauced t'be much use tomorrow... an' seein' as how it'd be a real bad idea for us to wander off somewhere... Think th'next toast is yours?"

"I'd call it an inadvisable idea, but not a bad one. The opposite really, as I suspect it would be fun,"​ he says meeting her eyes. "But yes, I think the next will be mine. You'll have to give me a little to think of something."

"Well then, meanwhile..."

She kept eye contact as she took another sip.

"... I'll need t'think up a good song for a place like this."

"A good drinking song? Aren't they all good?" he asks, with a smirk. "Feeling bold enough to try and rope the whole sake house into a tune?"

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Oh, I know a few rafter-rattlers, but, uh..."

She whispered again.

"I think a rousing chorus of 'Fucked With an Anchor' might not be the best look?"

"So, ah... maybe a sappy sentimental favorite?"

The title draws both a twinkle of curiosity and a blush. "Probably would be better in a Crane sake house," he agrees.

"Hm, tryin' t'think of a sappy sentimental favorite that doesn't, uh..."

He clears his throat and starts off a bit quiet.
