[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"One of the farmers I worked with for a while told me he was glad he worked so hard every day. Meant his appetite was big enough to cover the taste of his son's cooking. Hunger is the best spice."

"Which, given all the goin' up an' down th'ratlines we do, should tell ya somethin' about food we see fit t'complain about..."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Well, I am not a picky eater myself. I love smoked fish but will eat just about anything. Other than piles of ginger like my brother."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Whatcha got against gari? Sometimes it's all that makes food taste like anythin'!"

[Shiba Jiro]

"Oh, I have nothing against it. I am just not a particular fan of a meal that is half rice and half ginger. Prefer it in more reasonable amounts than by the pound."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

She blinked.

"Ain't that kinda... spendy?"

[Shiba Jiro]

"Not if you slice and pickle it yourself. And it may be a slight exaggeration, but he really does eat what I consider to be far too much ginger."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"I'd have to see it t'believe it."

[Shiba Jiro]

"I suggest watching it only once. I've seen it too many times and it never gets easier," he replies with a chuckle.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"I dunno, I've seen sharks tearing into a whale's carcass, can't be much uglier'n that..."

[Shiba Jiro]

"I haven't seen that. So no real way to know which is worse without one of us seeing the eating nightmare of the other," he says with a smile.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Does he at least enjoy it?"

[Shiba Jiro]

"Seems to. Unless he's been faking it for years. Which I wouldn't put past him to try and pull one over on me as part of a practical joke. But it would be a bit much."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Do his eyes roll back in his head?"

[Shiba Jiro]

"He closes them, so maybe sometimes?" he says with a wide smirk.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Only counts if they're wide open'n go dead-white."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Doesn't do that but then I am not so sure that would be so off-putting as much as just strange," he says.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Sharks do that."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Sharks do that."

"Well now I am just curious. This is something I want to see," he responds.
