[LN2] - Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

Yuuko's behavior was not picked up on.

Asako, sneaking up, would clearly see two forms. Their clothes did not bear any mon, though in the lighting, she could see that they did carry daisho.

Their conversation continued.

Short of straight up stabbing them, Asako didn't see any point in interfering just yet. She lingered on by, ready to cause all sorts of commotion if it meant the difference between life or death.

[Ender]

"Don't you... don't you worry about how quickly those who take this, though... that they tend to die from it do quickly?" One of the voices within Asako's earshot asks.

"Not at all. Boss keeps the money coming in, and those that get sick and die from this stuff? Their own fault for getting involved with it, ne?" The other voice was dismissive of the concerns.

"Still. Those Gaijin have found a cash crop."

[Seppun Urusai]

The drugs? Urusai thinks. Or something else?

He notes that the Scorpion seem to be gone, somehow. Of course. But there is still a Crane maiden who might need protecting, and so he remains between her and the danger, advancing slightly to give more distance for her to flee, if she needs to do so.

Maybe there's a stick, he thinks, and looks about swiftly.

Ender, do I need to roll to locate a stick? Were we not in a Crane garden, I'd assume one's handy, but as we are...

You can find a stick, just have to break it off from one of the manicured trees.

[Shosuro Asako]

Pretend to be a buyer? No, no, I'm too put-together to be mistaken for a junkie. Asako glanced around for her sister who'd surely have a better idea than walking up to them and stabbing each and every one of them. Though they had both snuck off, her intuition at least gave her a general sense of where her twin was.

When she was sure her sister was nearby, she did her best imitation of taking poppy... from a girl who'd never used it before. She held up her hands, taking a mock inhale from an invisible pipe, then blowing into the air. As a final conclusion, she did what she did when she was stumped: one, exaggerated shrug.

Feeling that sense, snuck off away from the group at least. Yuuko waited for her sister to return. Having found herself a space that was perhaps just off from the main throughway, but didn't approach the individuals talking directly and allowed her sister to take the lead. When Asako returns to her Yuuko watches her sister with the slightest of puzzled expression to her gaze, hidden from the rest of her expression.

Keeping to mind of her presence, Yuuko joins by her sister and leans in. Speaking softly so as not to be heard, hand covering her mouth, "I know. Have you forgotten I can read lips, sister?" she says with a hint of humor to the hushed tone. "We either try to follow, learn what we can, or let them go. We are not quite.. suited for this."

Asako's cheeks turned red, well, as much as they could in the darkness. "It was dark and I couldn't be sure you'd be able to see my lips," she mouthed, though her twin of all people could easily see through such a bold-faced lie. "I forgot to add too that people, like, die from taking it. Like a bad batch, I guess."

[Shosuro Yuuko]

Yuuko would part briefly so she might look at her sister, and read her lips. Nodding at first to the admission, then to the revelation. As prior miming Asako did Yuuko gave her own little performance. Bringing her hand up she waves in front of her own face, looks to her sister pointedly, and then back the way she had come from.

"I mean, they haven't seen anything," she continued to mouth. "I suppose there's no harm in involving them, but how? I doubt their feet will be able to keep themselves out of trouble." She shrugged. "Would rather not have a dead Imperial on our hands, even if he is just a child." Like she wasn't.

"I don't think we can take them. I know, I know, but they're, like, full-blown samurai. Have swords and all that."

Leaning in once more, spoken quietly once again, "I'll go find them. If you can see if you can see the faces of these samurai who would poison their own people," she leans back, gives her sister a look and then parts. Moving back along the way she'd try to link back up with the other two. Finding whatever she might find when she links back up with the two.

Scouting back as Yuuko made their way back to the other two, she wouldn't find much. Though it is unusual that the path has less lanterns lit than normal. Maybe it was just the wind, maybe it was something else.
