"But I wouldn't take it amiss t'learn something a bit more refined, either."

"Refinement is dependent on context. Such songs are oral traditions and worthy of preservation and continuation. Even if they're not polite or appropriate for all company they still have cultural value and significance," Jiro replies. "A time and place for everything. But if you are interested in learning or experiencing something more in line with popular sensibilities, I would certainly not be opposed. Perhaps over tea? I can perform the tea ceremony for you if you'd like."

"I like the rain, personally. It's more of a practical concern really, as I wouldn't want it to ruin the matcha powder. If you get moisture in the container you can end up with mold."
