I've not been able to post a lot this game--it's been kind of an exhausting semester over here--so I'm not sure if folks have questions for/about Jun, but if you do, fire away.

Unusually for me, I've stayed engaged/invested in both the game and the character and enjoyed them despite very, very minimal actual writing time and energy. I can see playing Jun again, hopefully when I have more time and brain cells to better unfold him for everyone else to engage with.

Vague general inspiration includes Ancient Detective, a bit of The Imperial Coroner, a little bit of Encyclopedia Brown and probably a tiny smidgen of Miles Vorkosigan, plus all of the most nerdily enthusiastic freshman students in my intro classroom each semester.

Probably getting to the duel-off, tbh, given how much of that was dice luck for everyone. It was fun to RP though (regrettably some of that only played out in my head).

Jun largely played delightfully close to the way I'd imagined him. But of of course most of the game was missed opportunities, because RL was like that. So if I could do it over with infinite time (and more importantly, energy) I'd just have him hang out with people a lot more, generally, and give him a chance to react to surprises. Maybe also try to find some ghosts or spirits for him to be completely oblivious about.

Favorite scene in this game?

Hard to say (see also: RL no oni), but I do think Jun produced a couple of my personal favorite event failposts. And I'm glad he got to investigate CRIME things a bit, his reason for living.

I'm also enjoying polishing his booby prize as the only contestant to both fail with zero points in more than one event and place in more than one event.

Is it really the worst? I'm sure I could think of worse.
