I was honestly surprised myself I went the way I did and caused the problems I did. Had a lot of fun with Kasumi and Jiro! He'll forever be simultaneously confused and happy for the time he spent with her. Thanks for an amazing game.

Yes, well, he's just damned lucky she had other crap go staggeringly wrong for her, or she would have taken the way things had to go a lot worse.
Thanks for giving my Irrepressible Flirtation Anxiety (GOD they really misnamed those things) a target!

I really wasn't certain what precisely made Kasumi so angry. I know I faded out a bit but Shinko really liked her

Ayyy, Mantis friend!
What's next for Kasumi? Seems like she's a bit out of sorts IC, but what about OOC?
... what's going to happen with the murder doll?

That was largely me taking mechanical results that were totally out of anyone's hands (Sakkakku is a capricious beast), tossing in some paranoia about the Crane Clan and their motives (inviting someone who not merely failed at stuff she was bad at, but also at stuff she was GOOD at), a bit of goshi selfconsciousness (since she was under no illusions about being seen as classy by, well, anyone), then adding a dose of sulky teenager.
I know I faded out a bit but Shinko really liked her
Kasumi/Gyohime likes Shinko well enough, but they didn't have a hell of a lot of, well... quiet scenes

IC, she's convinced the Crane only invited her here to humiliate her a bit (mostly because, as my prior post notes, she failed a couple of rolls she's actually supposed to be GOOD at, and also because she never, ever actually felt comfortable in Tsuma- compare how happy she was aboard the ship to the rest of the time), and has developed a deep and abiding resentment of them as a result.
OOC, I had a blast, but no particularly clear plans for her going forward. She's certainly not going to be handed her own ship right out of gempukku, however promising she might be, and great a sailor as she undoubtedly is- but I do think she'll be moving on to another vessel. Far as her marriage prospects go, I have literally no idea. Her one serious romantic spark in this game was with Jiro, and she also has no particular plot-mandated pairings seeming too likely.
She's definitely not much of a catch in terms of marrying into any of the other clans (only the Phoenix, Crane, and Crab have any sort of fleet to make use of her skills in, and none of them typically prioritize that sort of thing), and it's debatable who even a pretty ruthless nakodo would see fit to pair her with even if they could get someone to marry in and just sit ashore.
I... don't see her being a terribly happy person going forward.
... what's going to happen with the murder doll?
It'll be there on Hirame's wedding day
Either that, or she's going to keep it, name it Hirame, and put it in charge of junior officers who need a bit of punishment...

Sorry the timing did not work for a meeting there. Late game got extra impacted by RL holiday stuff.
Though it does hit a question I've wondered. Seen Kasumi in threads with Jiro a few times with something along the lines of wanting to meet Natsuko because she's (Natsuko's) owed that much. Which I don't actually get. Like the usual setup when cheating is to hope you never run into the other person involved. So what's Kasumi's thought process on that?
There was a hint of mention of her parentage someplace as well (observation thread?) as if there was some secret to it. Or am I misremembering that?

Eh, c'est la vie!

Kasumi's used to relationships happening on a ship, where everyone finds out sooner or later, regardless- there's no place to run.
That said, she wasn't going to make some confession- she just wanted to meet the woman she was causing Jiro to cheat on. Natsuko is the only party in the matter Kasumi sees as innocent, and thus, she felt she owed her a face to face meeting, even if Natsuko never found out what it was about.

There's no secret about her parentage- her mother and father are, respectively, a skilled kobune captain and a guy who used to be a sailor before losing an arm in an accident and who now serves as a harbor pilot. She's given those details out here and there.
Kasumi's reluctance to talk about her folks is partly due to the fact that she barely knows her mother, partly because she knows her parents
hate each other.
That said, she is, thanks to 5E's ludicrous heritage results, distantly related to the Hantei via an acknowledged bastard sister of the Steel Chrysanthemum who's way back in her family tree.
