Game of Letters:
An elegant letter on light blue paper written in a flowing script folded into an origami sun. Unfolding the letter reveales the following:
Lady Sun looked upon her descendants gathered in Tsuma from the Heavens,
She saw:
The descendants of Hida and how tough they were, even when confronted with horror beyond reckoning,
The descendants of Doji who remained graceful and brought beauty to the Empire through their art,
The descendants of Togashi who held such wisdom,
The descendants of Akodo who fought more fiercely than any opponent,
The descendants of Shiba who guarded without hesitation,
The descendants of Bayushi and their cleverness,
The descendants of Shinjo who held great compassion for their fellow man..
The descendants of Hantei who ruled over them all, drawing upon the best of each.
She looked down upon all these children, who carried the blood and the ways of her children.
And she directed her smile upon the Empire that her children had built.
Transcribed once more, the now series of poems goes back out.
Orchids of blue bloom
Hanging persimmon heavy
Waiting for a shaking wind.
Jikoju: gentle zephyrs
arriving soon, Komoku
Brilliant, a spring moon
shifts on a rippling surface
night and prime in tune
Reaching towards reflections,
Ever elusive, dreamlike.
