The following is a disadvantage created for this series, and can Only be chosen by Ronin. And all Ronin in the Topaz Championship will have this disadvantage, in addition to those taken by character creation.

Obligation to [Great Clan or Imperial Family] (Water):

• You owe your invitation to one of the Great Clans of Rokugan or one of the Imperial Families. For as long as this obligation is owed, you are at the beck and call of who you owe the Obligation to. You may have to perform tasks that they would not want to assign any of their own samurai to.

• When you make a check related to dealing with someone to whom you owe this Obligation, in order to avoid doing a task related to it (such as Courtesy [Water] to find a way to politely decline the task, you must choose and reroll two dice containing a success or explosive success. After resolving the check, if you failed, you gain 1 Void Point.
