[Day 1, EM] Problem solving

Taura ate her breakfast distractedly while weaving bamboo. Problem solving was what she was good at, it was nice to be able to do that rather than worry about the championship ahead. And being able to help someone was always good. Though she did wish she had some lacquer, and a proper workshop and about two weeks.
But given the time and the resources at hand, she was quite pleased with the results. The piece of slate was nicely framed by the woven bamboo which gave a good edge to grip and protected whatever was written upon it. A rigid cover, also of woven bamboo, could be folded over to be used to shield whatever was written on the slate from the weather or prying eyes.
With more time, it could be beautifully decorated, and maybe given metal hinges. But that was for the future, for now, this would work.
