[EA8] - Art for the Temple, Balm For the Soul
Posted: Thu Dec 02, 2021 7:37 am
With the efforts made by the Topaz Contestants earlier in the week, some of the locals have decided to put on an art show to help further furnish the Shrine, and honor all of the fortunes there. While every piece added will be counted, the Crane have put a decidely Doji spin on it, to showcase the skill of their artists.
Event Type: Competitive and Cooperative
Participation: Open to all
Each PC may attempt up to three rolls. The first roll is at TN 2. The second is at TN 3. The Third is at TN 4. 1 Momentum point is awarded for a basic success, with +1 Momentum Point for every 2 successes after that. These are all Support actions for the purposes of techniques.
Basic Success - 15 Momentum Points - The Shrine has new artwork, and will draw the attention of the Governor again.
Moderate Success - 20 Momentum Points - Word will get out that the Shrine of the Fortunes in Tsuma has become a beacon of Faith and Artwork. Crane artisans will begin sending regular offerings of art to the Shrine. Every one who participates, and passes at least 2 checks, will gain 3 glory.
Great Success - 30 Momentum Points - Not only the Shrine, but Tsuma itself, will be seeing the blessings of new patronage of the arts. The Shrine seems to have been favored by the spirits in and around Tsuma. What this means... is yet to be seen.
Normal opportunity spends may be used based on approach.
Stances do not apply.
Magic IS allowed for this event.
The following Disadvantages are triggered for one roll: Perfectionism (Water), Clumsiness (Fire), Meekness (Fire)
The Following Activities May be partaken in-
Sculpture - This is an [b[Aesthetics check[/b], using clay, to fashion beautiful sculptures for the shrine. These can be used in new altars, or just to be decorative.
Poetry - This is a Composition check. Preparing fine calligraphy and poetic words to adorn the shrine with wall scrolls. Penmanship is critical here, to most honor the shrine.
Wood Panel Painting - This is a Design check. Crafting beautiful landscapes on wood panels, either detailing folklore and myth, or scenes of beauty and tranquility.
Musical Demonstration - This is a Performance check. Using whatever musical talents you have, whether singing, or instrumentation. You offer up a song to the Shrine and those in attendance.
Sadane - This is a Games check. What would an Art contest be without the game of Sadane. Using veiled words to critique, politely, the other works put forth. This cannot be attempted at TN2.
On top of the Momentum Points goals, there will also be a "Tsuma Art Champion". This will be determined by Most Momentum Points generated by a character.
