Shinko has a soft spot for temples and shrines. She is perhaps..."forceful" in her words to a potential donor
"All due respect sir, but I am mystified. How could you let this place fall upon such hard times? I hear that there are dead ronin found and the Shrine to the Fortunes is crumbling? I am sure that Daikoku is watching..." It doesn't work, but the fiery spirit gets some notice.
After that, she spends a lot of time lugging around stuff in an attempt to tidy up, running through the hallways with a rag and dragging debris. The cleaning is less helpful, but she winds up moving a huge boulder that had gotten stuck. For her efforts, she is absolutely mentally exhausted by the end.

Re: [EA3] Honest Work for Honest Samurai
Now, this is more like it! A task with clear goals that can be solved with hard work and solid effort!
Taura leaps to work immediately, setting to repairing walls and improving drainage. It goes pretty well but by the end, she is rather cold and comes inside. She did give some advice to [whoever was all working outside and needs to remove strife]
Success: 4 (required: 2) Opportunity: 2 Strife: 2 1 Opportunity to drop 1 strife, 1 Opportunity to help someone else to remove 2 strife
Inside, she set to work repairing the tapestries, they had been lovely once and hopefully will be again. In the end, her repairs are more practical than artistic though. But having warmed up and had some tea, she returns to the outside to try and finish that wall.
Success: 3 (required: 3) Opportunity: 0 Strife: 1
She knows she is getting tired, but the young Crab puts her full effort into the problem. Ultimately, the weather defeated her, especially as she worried for the safety of others.
Success: 3 (required: 4) Opportunity: 2 Strife: 1 + 1 (for second use of same skill) 1 Opportunity to drop 1 Stife, 1 Opportunity to make it safer for others working.

Kaori threw herself into the work, appreciating the kind words and actions of the Kaiu. First, she removed some of the rubble and debris herself, trying to tidy the place up. Next, she gently guided the laborers themselves to work without tripping up in each other's feet.
Finally, she went and bought some nice rope for the shrine.

Jun doesn't really feel the sense of awe some people claim to experience in temples, but he respects them nevertheless. Well, most temples. Great-uncle's journals have some stories... uh, anyway. This shrine seems like a perfectly nice one run by a kind monk of unobjectionable character. A nice young Dragon ought to do his bit, despite the disgusting weather.
Jun pitches in to help replace some of the dislodged shingles on the roof, unexpectedly putting to real use some of the experience gained fiddling around with his model house in the library that morning. After that, though, he can't go on with lugging heavy loads of wood around for very long--too cold, too wet. Even the knowledge that other young Topaz competitors (some of them cute!) are watching can't keep his fingers from stiffening up, and he has to spend a spell of time getting warm again.
At this point, he recalls yet another of his uncle's aphorisms. A magistrate should keep fit, but a nimble mind is more important. He has horses and hounds to chase fugitives and doshin to accost criminals; his task is to use his head.
Using his head, Jun concludes that other people are better at lifting and carrying, but he's good at persuading people (or at least, so he's been told). Rather than carry on getting pelted with hail outside, he decides to join the group politely petitioning the local authorities for support.

Jun begins this scene with 4/8 Strife.

Heckin' compromised though (13/8)
I haven't triggered Momoku here as I didn't roll using Void, nor try Theology in any other stances. Hope that's right?
Final Tally: +3 Points

Saito, the abbot of the Shrine, is moved by the outpouring and dedication of the Topaz Contestants. He takes his time, going up to each one, thaking them profusely for their hard work.
Those who used opportunities to pick up on Supernatural things: The Spirits around the Temple are far more active, some seeming to chip in. Life returning, their activity growing. Even around Saito, he seems at least 10 years younger, if not in appearance than certainly in vigor.
Outcome: Great Success!
Every one who participated gets the Distiction - Ally [Saito] (Water) Advantage, and 3 Glory Each.
In addition - for blowing the Goal out of the water. Every Participant will wake up feeling invigorated by their efforts and the thanks of the Spirits. Because of this, every participant will have +1 Void Point on Day 4.
