Masaru had been taught how to meditate from a very early age and while he often struggled to empty his mind he did seem to like making his mind fluid, still with form but flowing from one thing to the next gently shifting from thought to thought some significant some not. Some of the thinking touched on painful places, thoughts on the weight of expecting, now and in the future and this showed on his face before he returned to the more successful losing himself in his own thoughts.
