"Have you ever been part of a discovery at sea? Some island or giant creature or anything?"

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Oh, nah, nah."

She chuckled.

"Too many trainees on Yukikaze for us t'go too far outta known lanes. But Cap'n Kaito's got stories of stuff he found near th'Kingdoms. Islands with ruined temples on 'em, wreckes of ships like nothin' he'd ever seen..."

[Shiba Jiro]

"So I need to find a captain and ask about what they've seen?"

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"They do tend t'get 'round a bit more'n someone who ain't an adult yet, it's true."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Well, I will get plenty of stories from you in the future I hope. I'll follow your adventures. Maybe turn them into a pillow book?" he says with a smirk.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Pillowbooks need heroes, though..."

[Shiba Jiro]

"You mean like a charming sailor, full of confidence, that dives into the sea to save drowning ladies?"

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Only works for a pillowbook if th' sailor an' th' lady fall for one another, 'stead'a what did happen..."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Maybe I'll need to do some exaggerating or conflating. Writer's prerogative," he says with a chuckle.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Then y'should make th'sailor taller. And a bit more poised, eh?"

[Shiba Jiro]

"I like the description of the sailor already. And besides, wouldn't you like to read about that hero and her first encounter? And the many after? In descriptive detail?" He says with a mischievous grin.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

She arched an eyebrow and grinned.

"I could stand t'read more, s'true."

[Shiba Jiro]

"I'll need to send passages to you... for proofreading of course. And to practice my writing. Wouldn't want the inspiration for such stories as I would tell to not approve of them."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Puttin' it mildly..."

[Shiba Jiro]

"Oh, my writing won't be mild," he says with a smirk. "And if you say no, then at least one person read it. So it would be worth the effort."

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Hm, you did handle spice pretty well..."

Wink.

[Shiba Jiro]

Jiro bit his bottom lip as he smiles.

"Not sure if it's the spiciest thing I've tasted here. Other things have warmed me up even more."

He takes her tea cup to his side of the table, tops both off, then slides a cup back to her. Not hers.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

She quirked an eyebrow... and took a sip.

[Shiba Jiro]

He takes a sip as well, then eaves his hand at his mouth, taking a quick breath in.

"Ooh, much spicier," he says, grinning at her.

[Yukikaze no Kasumi]

"Sure someone somewhere mighta warned you 'bout Mantis women."
