"Konichiwa, fellow competitors and welcome to one of three kite flying, um, competitions? today? to celebrate Kisshoten-no-Kami? Myself and my Crane cousins have invited you all here to enjoy the art of kite flying combat! Off to this side, um, here, you can choose your kite. The braided leads are lined with crushed glass closer to the um, kites? So be careful! You may choose to dye your braids in your clan colours, uh, if you want to!"
Incense burns at far corners of a massive long table, displaying a variety of kites are each weighed down with painted rocks.

"The object of this competition is to use your kite for an aerial assault against the other kites, using your sharpened braids to slice through the... other braids? And release the other, um, kites? ...Yeah."

A collection of 5-6 year old children sit on pillows nearby, giggling and playing with small simple toys. "These fine children are our kite runners! They're tasked with ...running? after the loosed kites and retrieving them."

Views throughout the rest of Tsuma toward the KDA will reveal the kites flying high in the air and their attacks can be seen above the training ground walls, dashing and diving with the assistance of the thankfully very windy day.

Rules: You may make a single Games (Any) Skill Roll at TN 1. All who participate are awarded a piece of cherry blossom monaka.

The best kite flyer is judged in order of: Most Successes, Most Opportunities, Least Strife, Highest Status, Highest Glory, Highest Honor, First Poster.
The winner will receive four pieces of cherry blossom monaka.

This is a informal event, so feel free to chat, comment on others skill, and just enjoy yourself.

Jiro listened to Sakura's explanation and nodded his understanding. He decided to dye the ribbons in Phoenix colors, and picked a kite that looked as much like a swallow as he could find. He sent it up flying and prepared to do combat with other participants, a smile on his face at the activity.

Haru arrived shortly after his brother, interested in the aerial combat.

"Greetings Sakura-san, it is a pleasure to see you again. Thank you for hosting such a wonderful event." He offered a respectful bow to the Asahina then nodded at Jiro and smiled. "Brother, have you been enjoying yourself?"

"I have," he says focusing on the kite. Unlike his crafting, he had to pay some attention. "I'm sure you will too. Get a kite up there."

"Is that a challenge Jiro?"

Haru got his kite up in the air, the tailed dyed orange, light blue and grey-blue.

"I will steal the wind from your kite and bring it down." He chuckled at the kite fight.

Haru grunted and struggled to find an advantage against his brother's assault.

"It would seem...that I...used up all my luck...this morning."

"I didn't see any luck. Just you doing something you were trained to do, and doing it well."

He works the string carefully, keeping the advantage.

"Brothers Shiba, ohayo!" she bowed to each in turn, and watching their duel with amusement.

"Asahina-san. It's a pleasure to see you again. I apologize if I am a bit distracted while teaching my brother how to fly a kite properly," he says with a smirk.

Haru looked at the Asahina, ignoring the battle in the sky he was obviously losing and spoke to her like adults do when a child is present but think it won't understand what they are discussing.

"Our mother believes it's important I let him win every once in a while, otherwise he gets sad."

She smiles to Jiro and nods, "Good to see you as well!"
Then leans in ever so slightly to Haru, "Yes, well, it's good to let the younger siblings feel special, no?" her brown eyes sparked with shared mirth.

"Thanks for letting me win at Go every time as well. I'm certain that it doesn't annoy you at all since it's just the considerate action of a kind older brother. Gosh, 57 and 0. That is 57 times you indirectly told me you love me," he say with a devious grin.

"And I will let you win a thousand more, such is my love for you brother." While his tone was mocking his eyes held the truth. "Though you are fortunate that Sakura-san is here or I would have tripped you by now. You should thank her."

"Thank you Asahina-san. I appreciate you keeping my brother from beating me up."

He pushes up his sleeves revealing a scar on his arm.

"I'm not necessarily always so fortunate. Perhaps I should find a way to keep Asahina around... for reasons."

He looks at the scar with over exaggerated concern. Very over exaggerated.

"It is my honour, both of you," she gives an exaggerated bow.

"Oh no! How terrible!" she looks at Jiro's scar with a mixture of concern and clinical interest. "It's a wonder you survived this act of attempted fratricide..."

"I assure you he had it coming Sakura-san, he can be trying at times."

"I very nearly saw my end that day. The brute is as mean as he is ugly," he says, acting like they weren't twins and he didn't just insult himself.

The scar looks like it probably came from his arm hitting something hard enough to have the skin and the bone break.

To Haru, a solemn nod, "Brothers often are..."

To Jiro: "What a tragic end it would've been." She files away properly asking about the injury at a later time.

"Right? I'm always asking him what he would do without the pretty half of our partnership," he says, shaking his head in faux disappointment.
